Only reason it will not happen is the fuss that will ensue when someone gets killed by someone else driving at a stupid speed - and the driver is found to have committed no offence
The political fallout potential will stop it

not the plain and obvious fact that it is totally moronic

but it still plays nicely to the BMX driving, Daily Fail reading, rich Tory members

so file in the same category as cyclist with number plates

Of course not. We are in the "say any old shoot if you think it'll win a vote" phase of the election. They aren't going to *do* any of it. This is not about winning support across the country, just about winning support from Tory members.

Just watching Truss on the telly

someone has told her she will sound more authoritative if she slows down how she talks
so she is doing so my introducing pauses between words

It is almost more annoying that what she is saying - or not saying

Oh - and she has picked up that boris gets people on side and shows he is listening by throwing in the name of the person he is taking to every now and again
so she has started doing it but it is totally unnatural to her so it is grating

She is going to get more and more annoying
