He got his 15 minutes of fame....I hope it costs him his seat.

Obviously a man with a sound grasp of political philosophy.

Alternatively, it might show how successful Starmer has been in removing any taint of socialism from Labour.

I do wish that wasn't true.

The first time I heard something deeply suspicious, as a teenager, and immediately told those around me I thought needed to know and act on it. They did.

A similar situation some years later a colleague of mine was the whistleblower, but we in the workgroup had been looking for evidence for some time. She reported and the official response was so delayed that nothing happened and the matter had to be dropped for the sake of the victims. This issue was complicated by ongoing consideration of the vulnerable people concerned.

The third time was a case of a management figure giving a job to an old drug buddy, who fiddled big cash and wrecked a fine community project. The buddy was exposed, by several of us, as events emerged. The organisation was taken over by edict and most of us lost our jobs. The management figure was able to cover his tracks and get other crony roles, which I continued to criticise along with many. We had to be cautious because of slander law, but it became common knowledge.

The fourth time I was caught in a quandary, because though I was bullied at work this was because I had been given the job over the heads of and against the better judgement of my boss and colleague. I resigned.

The fifth time I messed up.

The sixth time was a case of the local council leader doing dodgy deals with property developers. I was the first to call this out openly in a council meeting as a member of the public. The campaign I was involved in eventually got a lot of what we needed, after the leader was deposed when others came forward to challenge him politically and as a bully.
Just a wild guess: was case No.6 anything to do with Millwall?

Apparently he called Owen Paterson a daffodil too, so you know, swings and roundabouts innit.
So that's what attracted him to Labour!

No - I followed the 'save the Den' events and went to the biggest council meeting - it was huge - others found the info there - including the Guardian newspaper, which was much appreciated. Also vital was a great collab of Millwall supporters and a local artist who would have lost her studio. Some high comedy moments!

Well..... things are progressing....

The Tory party seem to be turning on each other in quite spectacular form (and rather pleasing as someone who wants them out ASAP).

William Wragg has said that No.10 has threatened MPs with defunding if they don't withdraw their opposition to Johnson.

Incredibly he even advises MPs feeling threatened to bring the allegations to the police - presumably because the MET has been so diligent in pursuing allegations around No 10 so far....

Nadine Dorries has been stoutly defending Johson today, mainly by slagging off William Wragg. It might be interesting to note that William Wragg is vice chair of the 1922 committee, and hard Brexity ERGer and definitely on the right of the party. He isn't some 2019 wishy washy "red wall" Tory with no long standing party connections and teetering on a wafer thin majority.

Dorries has weapons grade levels of stupidity but even she knows that any other leader would never even contemplate her anywhere near a cabinet position. Only Johnson with his policy of having people around him who slavishly defend him and have absolutely no ability to threaten his job would even begin to entertain her being anything other than a backbencher.

fark 'em all. Bunch of daffodils.
