Once we're done with tractorgate, and all the hilarious memes are we going to have a debate on the damage that porn does.??

Damage to many of the people working in the 'industry' and to the minds of people watching it

There is hard evidence that peoples idea of what constitutes 'normal' and healthy sexual practices and relationships is skewed by viewing porn.

Particularly young people who are apparently getting their 'sex education' from viewing freely available pornography .

Hence the 'rough sex as no defence' clause having to be added in after men used it as an excuse for killing women that way.

Does this government intend to address this, by promoting better sex education
.??
It's a much broader issue than some sleazy guys in Westminster, although that's an issue of course.

No we're not, because there is such a vast amount of hard core pornography available to anyone within about a minute, via a few clicks on a screen, that it has become a problem that is too big and too difficult to solve. No government, Labour or Tory, wants to take on the issue of access to Internet porn, age restrictions, freedom of speech issues etc.

The best you can do is mitigate against its influence by educating young people about real life relationships, and how pornography dehumanises us all, and that having an Only Fans page isn't actually empowering. But to be honest the hyper sexualisation of girls and young women and the normalisation of porn is so prevalent now that it would just be a sticking plaster.

Well yes, it's the second part that we need to emphasise, at least as a short term solution, or mitigation.

Consumption of porn , and often violent porn seems fairly ubiquitous, and is proven harmful.

Another of these 'my* freedoms' that's been allowed, without much if any concern for the consequences situations.

*Could it be, as with so much else, anything to do with who benefits from the 'freedom' but suffers very little from the 'consequences' I wonder.??

Well I'm glad you find it educational.

There maybe not so many that actually post on here.

But if you look at the 'viewing figures' for the more popular threads, you'll see it runs into several thousand .

A bit of a wider 'reach' than just the guys down the pub eh??
