One might ask why specifically Rwanda, there is no bauble for say, Nigeria or the sufferers in Somalia or any other number of countries....
Because Rwanda was her flagship policy. That still doesn't make the independent correct though.

Well spotted...an omission on chef's part :shy:

Do I need to start on the unnecessary additions, as well?

The Claimant, The Independent Monitoring Authority for the Citizens' Rights Agreements, is actually the official body setup under the Withdrawal Agreement to monitor implementation. Government sued by its own Statutory Watchdog.

Do you think that the Mail will care about that detail? Just another example of civil service stopping the government from doing the right thing, innit?

Interesting opinion here from the legal blogger David Allen Green.

In brief the challenge to the policy itself was always a tall order. Challenging individual decisions on the other hand....

Getting those into a state that will pass muster at a court will stretch Home Office resources to their limit and cost a fortune.

If the Home Secretary has to review and sign off every single one personally, then it’s totally unworkable.
How many hours would each one take to process and correctly document. Multiply that by enough people to fill a plane and the Home Secretary is doing nothing but processing asylum claims for the next year.

That actually sounds like a very attractive proposition. No time left for further interfering with the right to protest, for example.

It's always somebody else's fault isn't it? Absolutely no responsibility at the top.
Cruise ships will go down well (sic)...bloody asylum seekers, lounging about on luxury cruise-ships at Taxpayers expense....

We already have two cruise ships in use in Scotland, one at Edinburgh and the other here in Glasgow. The Ukrainians using them are very happy with them. They have meals served, children’s play areas, gym facilities and even a job centre on board.

Yebbut, Ukranians are legal refugees. 'Illegals' are not supposed to be happy or comfortable on taxpayers money , they must be miserable and grateful until deported to Rwanda....
