Just one of a while list of billion £ disasters from a clueless corrupt government. Painful reading.

Interesting. The oldest windfarms get output tripled. I assume all the England ones are half or less then they should be.
It also may mean we have the most expensive new onshore windfarms.

"Research from the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit published this week found that the number of windfarms it said would be required to provide electricity for all 29m homes in the UK would take up less than 20% of land currently occupied by landfill sites."

Put a few turbines on every golf course. Sorted.

How closely together are those windmills?
It sounds like a stat that needs unpacking....

Wiki says they are set up to aid 'informed debate'. Whilst very bizarre it did get picked up by the BBC.
The positive that I picked it for that it infers there is enough wind to power the whole UK. If we could flood the land with 3c per kw turbines then the bigger job would be energy storage/conversion.

And it says 'The current director is former BBC environment correspondent Richard Black'.

The media push towards state ownership grows.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-63917570.amp

The biggest on in Wales, it seems, is owned by the Swedish government so state ownership in fact already exists.

We still need other solutions other than wind. Not much wind about right now. It’s freezing fog so no solar neither . However it’s has its place but we still cannot shake of our other sources be it fossil or nuclear . Can’t help thinking our lack of future planning g has dragged us here . ( well we know it has ! )
