And did you realise that to go back 4 Labour PMs you have to go as far as 1974? (Brown, Blair, Callaghan, Wilson)

But to look at it another way...

You had
  • 5 yrs - Wilson / Callaghan
  • 17 yrs - Thatcher / Major
  • 13 yrs - Blair / Brown
  • 12 yrs - Cameron / May / Johnson / ?
So the modern cycle (or at least the last 42 years) is for a party to stay in government for about 14 years.

More interesting is that Thatcher Major went from winning to minority, Blair Brown from Winning to Caretaker, where as the Cameron / May Johnson era went from alliance to win to caretaker to minority to win. Usually governments go insane then the other party takes over. In the case of the current lot we have to continue with the insanity.

You have to credit Boris Johnson for consistency.
He has been a part timer since well before the day he bufooned his way to the referendum win.
