Destroying art is just a wee bit fascist.

A large amount of "degenerate art" by Picasso, Dalí, Ernst, Klee, Léger and Miró was destroyed in a bonfire on the night of July 27, 1942

The concept seems to be to be specifically designed to provoke headlines and viewers
and not for the moral element

The concept of destroying "art" is problematic because the value and concepts of art changed over time
WHich is why some artists know thought of as masters - or higher - were thought of as terrible or immoral at the time

so we shouldn't be the ones to judge for future generations

Many years ago I went to an exhibition of works by Klimpt (spelling???) and a lot of his later stuff just seemed like band porn and most people took one look and turned away

so if it was in the show it could be destroyed

but future generations may see value in it that I do not

pictures whose value is simply by the person who made it - e.g hitler - have a different situation - but it does make for an interesting discussion - not the type of discussion that Jimmy Carr is famous for hosting!!

Gustav Klimt, most famously known for his painting The Kiss maybe ? Ive been lucky enough to see his exhibitions a few times.
More erotic than pornographic though, love his work.
